Supplements – Different Effects on Different People?

I was over confident. While at the doctor, I bet him that my Vitamin D levels were above the low marker that 80 percent of my fellow clinic-goers were at. When I got the results back however, I was only at a 47. The low threshold was a 30, so at least I was above that. However, my co-worker who only takes 2,000 IU’s a day was at an 80. I took 5,000 IU’s a day. The point is that supplementation can work, but it doesn’t always work the same way on the same people and there’s no for sure way to tell that you are normal until you get checked. Also, some research has shown that supplementation with certain vitamins does nothing. But the research showing the benefits of a multi-vitamin are plentiful, so if you don’t get the 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, I highly recommend a multi-vitamin.
